Beyond the Competition: The TRC’s Other Offerings

While competitive robotics teams sit at the heart of what we do, the Tulsa Robotics Center offers far more than a path to the FIRST competition floor. Throughout the year, the TRC runs a skills certification and development program designed to build real, transferable technical ability—covering tool safety, assembly, CAD/CAM, and programming—so that students of every experience level can grow with confidence. Complementing this hands-on training is our leadership development curriculum, which prepares students to step into meaningful roles as team leaders, mentors, and ambassadors. Rooted in the TRC’s youth-led model, these courses help young people cultivate the communication, project management, and problem-solving skills that serve them long after they leave our program, whether in college, careers, or their communities.
Our popular summer camps open the doors even wider, giving newcomers and seasoned members alike an immersive, engaging introduction to STEM in a fun and supportive environment. For many families, a summer camp is the spark that ignites a lasting passion for engineering and technology—and a natural gateway into the TRC’s multi-year robotics pathway, which spans FIRST LEGO League Explore and Challenge, FIRST Tech Challenge, and FIRST Robotics Competition. Alongside these programs, the TRC hosts classes, open houses, outreach events, and community service initiatives that connect students with local industries, higher education pathways, and inspiring role models. Whatever a student’s age, background, or starting point, the TRC offers a welcoming place to explore, innovate, and discover what they’re capable of building.
