The Tulsa Robotics Center’s FIRST LEGO League (FLL) program introduces younger students to the exciting world of STEM through hands-on robotics, creative problem-solving, and teamwork. Designed for students in elementary and middle school, the program challenges teams to design, build, and program LEGO robots while exploring real-world problems and developing innovative solutions. TRC’s FLL teams—including Looney Squad, Gear Attack, Krazy Koders, Wacky Happy Yaks, Water Raiders, and Mini Minions—encourage students to discover new skills, build confidence, and experience the excitement of competition in a supportive environment. Through collaboration, creativity, and the Core Values of FIRST, students learn that robotics is about more than building robots—it is about becoming curious thinkers, effective communicators, and future innovators.

The Tulsa Robotics Center offers both FIRST LEGO League Explore and FIRST LEGO League Challenge programs to provide age-appropriate robotics experiences for students at different stages of their STEM journey. FIRST LEGO League Explore introduces younger students to engineering through guided discovery, creative building, and teamwork as they design LEGO-based solutions to real-world challenges. FIRST LEGO League Challenge builds on those skills by engaging students in a deeper robotics experience where they design, build, and program autonomous LEGO robots, develop innovative solutions, and compete in a structured tournament environment. Together, these programs give students the opportunity to grow from curious beginners into confident problem-solvers while building the foundation for future participation in advanced FIRST programs.
